Recipe for Homemade Pea Soup in 10 Easy Steps

It's cold outside, you want something warm and quick and that Cup-of-Noodles does not look that appetizing.
How about some delicious, filling, yummy, tasty pea soup. It's also healthy but I won't tell if you won't.

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons of  Olive Oil (preferably Extra Virgin)
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Whole Onion (Red or White)
  • 2 teaspoons of salt (Kosher or Sea Salt recommended)
  • 1 cup of peas (1can=1 cup)
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 1 chicken bouillon
  • Pepper to taste
So your ingredients should look like this:

Directions:
  1. Boil your 2 cups of water and add your chicken bouillon. Once it starts boiling, VOILA!...You have chicken stock.
  2. Dice your onions

   3. Dice your garlic

   4. Add your olive oil to a pot. Add your onions to sautee for 5 minutes then add your garlic. Stir
until edges are golden brown. Smells good doesn't it. We really LOVE garlic in our home,
so we usually add a few extra cloves.
   5. Lower the heat and then add your peas. Stir all the ingredients together. Oh yeah, that looks yummy
       already.

   6. By now your chicken stock should be ready and boiling. Add to your pea pot. *Note: Depending on
how thick you want your soup, you can add more or less until you get the consistency you like after
       you blend it.
   7.  Add your salt and garlic powder.
   8. Boil all this deliciousness for about 10 minutes.
   9. Place all this yummy goodness into a blender and BLEND AWAY!

So...from this:

To this:

10. Bring soup back to pot and heat for about 5 minutes.

ENJOY!!!!

Want to be different?
*Enjoy with some Naan Bread instead of plain ol' bread
* Add some heavy cream (about 1/2 cup) for a silky finish
*Garnish with some cheese, or better yet, some freshly grated Parmesan Cheese on top.

This is ridiculously good!

Welcome to my Little Corner in the Internet World

Hiya!

Welcome to Homemade Goodies for Foodies. Simply put, a little haven for those who enjoy eating.

My husband and I enjoy traveling and currently live abroad so, needless to say, a lot of the foods that we are used to back home and non-existent here. Taking on the challenge of cooking delicious foods in a country where their staple meal is pork and bread, my husband and I have gotten very creative with our meals.

My name is Michelle, and I'll be your showing how to make some yummy plates with a few simple ingredients.
From single and eating out every night to married and cooking at home, I had to learn a few things...ASAP!
I think I've gotten pretty good at it.

So, I hope you enjoy and Bon Appetite!
